Jaipur:Giving a fillip to agri-tourism in India, S. Korean farmers visited Sunrise Organic Herbal Park to have first-hand experience of the best practices employed in the agriculture sector of India and interact with experts.
A 27-strong delegation, led by Park Woon Seong, representing North Jeolla Province Association of Korean Rice Farmers paid a field visit to Sunrise Organic Herbal Park. The delegation took keen interest in understanding the cutting-edge model to promote organic and sustainable agriculture. Korean farmers were amazed to see cow herds and inquired about the relationship between cows and organic farming.
Sunrise Organic Herbal Park, spread across 162 acres, is situated at Pinjara Pol Gaushala, Sanganer, Jaipur.
Eminent agriculture scientist Prof. Dr. Atul Gupta, Chairman, Sunrise Group of Companies, first briefed the delegation about the scenario of agriculture, organic cultivation, sustainable farming and the Indian perspective of the symbiotic relationship between Desi Cow and organic farming. He explained how organic and herbal cultivation is positively impacting the lives and incomes of the farmers who are adopting this eco-friendly way of farming.
Prof. Dr. Gupta, who is chairman of the Organic Farmer Producer Association of India, also explained how different and innovative product development is helping protect and promote Indian cow breeds.
Dr. Gupta, Director, International Institute of Advance Agriculture Skill Development (IIAASD), briefed the Korean farmers, how the cow dung and cow urine is emerging as an ecosystem supporting organic farming in India. This cow based organic farming model is being replicated across several countries of North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Delegation members were particularly interested in paddy farming in India, best practices, government policies for paddy farmers and the India-South Korea rice trade.
S. Korean farmers were enthusiastic experiencing a successful and sustainable ecosystem comprising water, crop and pest management.
Kenyan Delegate Visits Sunrise Organic Herbal Park
Jaipur : In a quest to learn about organic and sustainable farming, Kenyan delegate Dr. Muhsin Sheriff paid a visit to Sunrise Organic Herbal Park.
Dr. Muhsin works at grassroot level to bring positive impact in the life of Kenyan people, particularly farmers. He was very inclined to know about cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. To implement his vision into reality, Dr. Muhsin Sheriff formed a group of farmers to cultivate 45-acres farm near Mombasa in Kenya.
Dr. Muhsin had been following Dr. Atul Gupta, Director, IIAASD, online and was impressed with his work. Apart from visiting Sunrise Organic Herbal Park, he was very inclined to know the concept of organic farming.
Eminent agriculture scientist Dr. Atul Gupta is working on mission mode to transform Rajasthan into 100% organic state by 2030. He shares a concern for the availability of sustainable, pesticide and urea free food items for the masses. Dr. Gupta is widely recognized for his work in Mauritius to promote the cultivation of Stevia. Stevia is a natural sweetener and works as a substitute for sugar. With the promotion and adoption of Stevia, prevalence of diabetes in Mauritius recorded a decline of around 20 per cent.
