Organic Industrial Villages
The concept of Organic Industrial Village is in initial phase where we are planning to make such villages in Rajasthan state of India, by taking villages to the next level by following good agriculture practices (GAP) and processing raw materials derived from agriculture, where farmers will form Farmer Producing Companies (FPC) to cultivate medicinal & aromatic herbs. The farmers will be the sole proprietor of their produce, they will setup their own small scale processing units where the raw materials harvested from their land will be processed. The farmers will be able to decide the prices of their produce for better incomes.
The cultivation of these crops will be totally based on Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture Practices, making village youth aware of these practices. Rearing of livestock, mainly Indian breed cows, will be part of this agriculture so that farmers can make their own organic manure by using cow dung and cow urine and agri waste.
Women Farmer Producer Companies & Women Agri Entrepreneurs
HCMS has a network of SHGs of about one lakh village women. These women are financially weak but the agriculture is totally dependent on them as they work in many different roles such as agri-labour, farmer, land owner etc. We work to make Farmer Producer Companies of these women, so that they can be key role players in decision making and can influence local agriculture positively.
